The initial demonstration vehicle of the Amphibious Combat Vehicle 30mm Cannоn (ACV-30) variant, which BAE Systems has supplied to the US Marine Corps, has been delivered.
A contract worth $88 million is set to be executed in 2022 to fund the preliminary stage of the ACV-30 endeavor, which primarily involves the investigation, advancement, experimentation, and assessment of the novel iteration.
Equipped with a stabilized, medium-caliber Remote Turret System, the ACV-30 is the third variety of аssаult vehicle. Its purpose is to increase troop and cargo capacity without compromising the vehicle’s lethality, mobility, or protection.
.
At present, BAE Systems is operating at maximum capacity producing the Personnel and Command and Control variants of the ACV. Currently under development is a Recovery variant that will offer direct field support, maintenance, and recovery.
.
Support and production activities for the ACV are currently underway in Pennsylvania, Virginia, California, Michigan, and South Carolina.
The Asset AmphibiousThe ACV is a collaborative effort between BAE Systems and Iveco to design and manufacture an eight-wheel drive аssаult vehicle that is suitable for use in open-ocean conditions.
Initial operational capability was achieved by the first units in 2021, subsequent to the completion of a $184 million contract for the delivery of 36 ACVs to the force.
The ACVs were designed as a replacement for the аssаult Amphibious Vehicles of the Marine Corps, which have been operational since 1972.
